Letters: Marginalized community drew the line at trains through the neighborhood
Re: “It’s time to share train traffic,” Letters, July 2. However, the efforts to stop this were not driven by the media but rather by the coordinated, collective determination and advocacy of neighborhood residents whose homes, families and quality of life would be directly affected. Known as “We Won’t Be Railroaded,” citizens of this community worked diligently to ward off efforts to reposition yet another hazard to a poorer community of color.
