Viroqua Library and Vernon County Over 50 offering restoration planting program
VIROQUA, Wis. – The McIntosh Memorial Library in partnership with the Vernon County Over 50 Club are sponsoring a program titled “A Passion for Prairies: Preservation, Restoration, Planting” with Dr. Melinda Knutson. The program will be held in the library lobby on Wednesday, June 19 at 2:15pm in the library lobby.
Humane Society Director Emily Rozeske talks “Community Cats” at next Viroqua Library “Meet Your Neighbor”
The McIntosh Memorial Library hosts a monthly program called “Meet Your Neighbor”. The program is an opportunity to hear from area leaders about local topics of interest. The June featured program titled,” Community Cats: Who They Are, How Can We Help” will be presented by Driftless Humane Society Executive Director Emily Rozeske. The program will be held on Friday, June 21, at 10:00 a.m. inside the library lobby.
Gov. Evers attends groundbreaking for 65 unit workforce housing project in downtown Viroqua
VIROQUA, Wis. – On Thursday the Northpointe Development Corporation and the city of Viroqua held a groundbreaking ceremony for a 65 unit workforce housing project that will also include a daycare and new retail space in downtown Viroqua. Company representatives along with state and local officials, as well as key stakeholders that made the project possible were also on hand to celebrate the culmination of process that took years to get the project to the construction phase.
4 Wisconsin teenagers killed in early morning truck crash
MADISON, Wis. (AP) – Four teenagers were killed and another was seriously injured when their truck collided with a semitrailer in rural south-central Wisconsin early Monday. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that deputies responded to the crash just outside Columbus around 4 a.m.
Alcohol a factor in Crawford County ATV crash that injured two people
TOWN OF BRIDGEPORT, Wis. – A 40-year-old man from Prairie du Chien faces alcohol related charges after losing control an ATV he was driving over the weekend, injuring two people. Sheriff Dale McCullick reports that around 5:29 p.m., on Saturday, May 18, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) crash on Bouska Rd. near US Hwy 18 in the Township of Bridgeport.
