KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Knox County Health Department along with Republic Services is offering a free trash day to residents.

On July 20 from 8 a.m. to noon Republic Services in Vincennes will be allowing members of the community to bring all their trash including large items of no use to be taken at no charge. The event does require you to provide proof of residency and also that you have to haul it yourself. Anything from furniture to mattresses, flooring as long as its tied in three foot bundles, and small appliances can be taken as long as they do not contain any chlorofluorocarbons and hydrofluorocarbons like those found in refrigerators and air conditioning units.

Prohibited items include construction debris and building materials, tires, paint, liquid waste, electronics and hazardous waste.

Organizers ask that residents not try to use any commercial haulers to bring their trash to be disposed.

For questions about the event feel free to contact the Knox County Health Department at 812-882-8700.
