Vincennes man arrested after crash during S.R. 67 pursuit

KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Vincennes man is in custody after police say he led a pursuit from Bicknell to Vincennes before crashing his car and attempting to flee on foot.
According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office , Jacob Heiden-Waterhouse has been arrested following the Thursday incident.
Deputies reported spotting Heiden-Waterhouse at the Chuckles gas station parking lot in Bicknell at 1:30 a.m., and noted he had an active warrant for his arrest. When Heiden-Waterhouse noticed the presence of law enforcement, he reportedly exited the parking lot without ever stopping his vehicle.
A deputy attempted a traffic stop, however the man reportedly fled southbound on S.R. 67. Deputies in pursuit noted that as the chase continued, Heiden-Waterhouse was seen throwing items from the vehicle.
The pursuit traveled 11 miles down the roadway, eventually coming to an end when Heiden-Waterhouse reportedly crashed his red Ford pickup truck into a concrete abutment at the intersection of S.R. 67 and U.S. 41 just outside of Vincennes.
Deputies said Heiden-Waterhouse then attempted to flee on foot, however was captured by deputies and placed under arrest.
Knox County Jail officials confirmed on Friday morning that Heiden-Waterhouse remains in custody. One of his charges has a $5,000 cash only bond, however his other charges are listed as having no bond, leaving Heiden-Waterhouse in custody.

Resisting law enforcement
A level 6 felony
Obstruction of justice
A level 6 felony
Possession of a controlled substance
A class A misdemeanor
Reckless driving causing bodily injury
A class A misdemeanor
