Bond set for Vicksburg gas station robbery suspect

VICKSBURG, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Bond has been set for a St. Louis man in Vicksburg after he was arrested and charged with armed robbery.

Vicksburg police said the robbery occurred just before 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7 at the Circle K convenience store on Clay Street.

Using surveillance video, police said they were able to identify the suspect’s vehicle, which was located at the Battlefield Campground.

Investigators said the suspect, Damon Jones, 30, of St. Louis, Missouri, was arrested without incident. They said the money stolen from the store was recovered, and a handgun was collected as evidence.

Jones has been charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He appeared in court on Wednesday, May 8 and received a $500,000 bond.
