VESTAL, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – The 2024 season has been incredible for the Binghamton University Women’s Lacrosse team, as the squad has accomplished something the program never had before.

On Sunday, the Bearcats won their first America East championship with a 12-11 victory over the UAlbany Great Danes.

After falling behind 5-0, B.U. rallied to take control of the game.

3 days since the historic victory for the Bearcats, Head Coach Stephanie Allen is still enjoying the team’s incredible win.

“There’s been a lot of emotions,” Allen said. “Just so proud of all the hard work they’ve put in. The buy in this year has been, better than I could’ve imagined and something that we saw very early on in the fall, the belief of this group of what we could achieve this season. So, just couldn’t be more proud of what they’ve done and accomplished so far and excited for more bonus time with this group.”

That bonus time is the Bearcats first appearance in the NCAA tournament.

Binghamton will travel to face Yale on Friday in the opening round.

That game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m., the Bearcats are looking to keep their incredible year going.
