BLOOMINGDALE, N.Y. — Three people received emergency aid from the American Red Cross after a fire at a home in Essex County, New York on Tuesday. The Northeastern New York Chapter of the American Red Cross reported that a fire broke out at a home on Union Lane in Bloomingdale, NY on Tuesday evening.

AMR, DEC introduce 2024 parking reservations
KEENE — DEC and Adirondack Mountain Reserve (AMR) have announced the return of its parking reservation system which started May 1 and continues until Oct. 31. This system aims to ensure safe access to trails in the Route 73 corridor, following a successful run in 2023. Since its launch in 2021, over 52,500 users have registered on AMR's website to reserve parking.
Saranac Lake PD equips patrol cars with “Carter Kits”
Saranac Lake, NY- One local police department is finding new ways to interact with the public, specifically those on the autism spectrum. The Saranac Lake Police Department, led by Chief Darin Perrotte, is looking for ways to improve service to all members of the community. Chief Perrotte said, “We have folks in our area with autism and other developmental disabilities, so something that the officers are encountering. We really wanted to look into how we could do a better job, and offer a better service, if you will, when we’re encountering these folks on a day-to-day basis.”
New Motus Wildlife Tracking System to be installed in Lake Placid in June
LAKE PLACID, N.Y. — A new wildlife tracking system is coming to the Adirondacks to help biologists record the movement of species in their native environments. The Uihlein Foundation in Lake Placid announced that it will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the first Motus Wildlife Tracking System in the Central Adirondacks next month.
