The Velva Drake Anamoose Aggies softball team are coming off of a heartbreaking season from a year ago, falling just short of making the state tournament, where they were one of the favorites to take it all.

This year they comeback hungrier than ever and are keeping their eyes on the prize. The Aggies have put that heartbreak in the past, and are only focused on what’s ahead.

The Aggies have put in a lot of work during the offseason and they’re only goal, is getting better day in and day out.

Despite having one of the toughest schedules in recent memory, the Aggies have been able to hold their own through the first 10 games with an 8-2 record.

“This year a lot of girls did a lot of things in the offseason. We’re a little more athletic and we’ve got some good speed on the team. Defensively we’ve been playing well these first ten games”, said Head Coach Bryce Gutknecht.

“This season I think we got a lot of girls that want to win. I know there’s a lot of girls that are really putting their all in, and we have a lot of fast girls as well as under classmen. I think if we keep going at the pace and at the rate, we have then we’re going to do good”, said Cienna Clemens.
