Marlow students take the stage for Schoolmates
MARLOW, Okla. (KSWO) - Marlow Public Schools hosted a local country band Thursday at the Marlow Performing Arts Center to perform for middle and high school students. Gage Wilkerson and the Young Guns are an up-and-coming red dirt band hailing out of southwest Oklahoma. This five-piece band, comprised of high schoolers with two being senior outlaws of Marlow High, took to the stage, showcasing their talent and love of music. Having opened for a plethora of well- known artists from the Kansas border to the Lone Star State, the young guns never expected to be performing for a much younger crowd on a school day.

You would not expect mountains here. Oklahoma’s southwest corner is flat, dry country, and then suddenly, ancient granite peaks punch through the prairie like fists. The Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge covers about 59,020 acres near Lawton, and it holds bison, elk, longhorns, canyons, and lakes all in one place.
