Cameron’s Duncan campus celebrates with tree lighting ceremony
LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) - Cameron University’s Duncan campus will be ringing in the holiday season this evening, Nov. 30, during their annual tree lighting ceremony. Events get underway at 6 p.m. and are open to the public. Those who will attend will receive a free Cameron tree ornament and a craft kit to take home. LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) - Clouds will continue increase tonight ahead of our next storm system. The storm system will bring rain into the area beginning tomorrow (Thursday) evening. Light rain will start to break out south of the Red River in the morning hours moving northeast. As the storm system becomes better organized embedded storms could develop in our eastern and northern areas (I-40, I-44, Elk City, Chickasha, Lawton, Duncan, Wichita Falls, Graham, and Bowie). In, fact a stray severe storm or two can’t be ruled out from Duncan, Wichita Falls, Graham, over to Bowie. Rain and garden variety storms will come to an end tomorrow evening. Rainfall amounts will be highest in our northern and eastern areas, but on the average most places can expect up to a third of an inch of rainfall with locally higher amounts.

A Lawton, Oklahoma, student who goes by the Facebook user name Rose Lynn had the last laugh after being sent home from school for wearing an outfit deemed "distracting." Rose Lynn believes her outfit attracted the attention of school officials because of her figure.She proved it by posting a photo on Facebook of her modest outfit, which consisted of black leggings, a t-shirt, long cardigan, and boots. In her post, she wrote that she was sent home "because I'm developed farther than the average girl my age," and because she's a "CURVY woman." Rose Lynn also thinks the appropriate response shouldn't have been to tell her to cover up, but to teach boys to "to respect the boundaries of young ladies."

My recent visit to RED PEPPER Lawton was a culinary delight. I was particularly impressed with the dry-fried pork intestines, a must-try for anyone who appreciates authentic flavors. The Yu Xiang shredded pork, Mao Cai, sour soup fatty beef, husband and wife lung slices, Zhong dumplings, and red oil wontons were all equally delectable. I can't wait to go back and try more of their dishes.
