DELMONT, Pa. (KDKA) - One of Westmoreland County's police departments will once again have a K-9 program. According to Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole Ziccarelli's office, the Delmont Police will once again have a K-9 program thanks to funding from the state. Approximately $60,000 was allocated to Delmonth Borough for the purchasing of a K-9-accessible SUV. Hempfield Area School Board approves district's next superintendent

Update: Tornado warning for Southwest Pa. Saturday evening
On Saturday at 6:28 p.m. an updated tornado warning was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until 6:45 p.m. for Allegheny, Washington and Westmoreland counties. "At 6:28 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Jefferson Hills, or near Gastonville, moving east at 25 mph," states the weather service. "Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely."
