Avon police release video seeking information on fatal hit-and-run incident
Last week, Avon Police Department released a video on its Facebook page sharing the emergency call that came in on Tuesday, March 5 at 6:50 p.m., detailing the scene of what would later be determined as a hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of 76-year-old John “Jack” Ladesic of Pennsylvania.

On Thursday, April 25 just after 9 a.m., an EC Alert was sent out alerting residents in the 3000 block of Wildridge Road in Avon that there was police activity in the area. According to Avon Police Chief Greg Daly, the department apprehended a suspect regarding a financial crime on a senior victim.

Degraded heat tape sparks small fire near Breckenridge Friday morning
Firefighters responded to a small fire Friday, April 26, at Tiger Run Resort, according to the Red, White & Blue Fire Protection District. Deputy chief of operations Drew Hoehn said the fire started at a “permanent tiny home” at the RV park. Upon responding around 10:30 a.m., Hoehn said firefighters found a roughly 6-inch flame coming from degraded heat tape in the gutter of the home.

The teenager who was injured in a roof avalanche while playing outside in Breckenridge last month is expected to recover, according to the Breckenridge Police Department. Breckenridge Police Department Chief Jim Baird called the hospital after the incident and was told that the teenager would recover, police administrative supervisor Colleen Goettelman said in an email Tuesday, April 23.
