The National Weather Service in Central Illinois is forecasting storms on Sunday night and Monday. Meteorologists expect more active weather later in the week. CHAMPAIGN – Former Illinois football players Johnny Newton, Isaiah Adams, Tip Reiman, and Casey Washington were selected in the 2024 NFL Draft. Newton was selected in the 2nd round to the Washington Commanders, Adams and Reiman went to the Arizona Cardinals, and Casey Washington went to the Atlanta Falcons. Along with the 4 draftees, many former Illini are seeking to become undrafted free agents. Former Illini Defensive Tackle Keith Randolph Jr. has already been signed to stay in Illinois with the Chicago Bears. – Colin Hislope/IPM News.
Big Ten announces Illini basketball 2024-25 conference opponents
Illinois men's basketball during the 2024-25 season will play only three conference teams twice: Michigan State, Northwestern and Wisconsin. The Illini will play every other Big Ten team just once as the Big Ten on Wednesday announced the conference's 20-game schedule for the 2024-25 season, the first that will include 18 teams now that Oregon, Washington, UCLA and USC are joining the conference. Dates for the games will be announced at a later date.

Illinois football loses top 2024 recruit
CHAMPAIGN — Michigan State’s loss in the coaching change from Mel Tucker to Jonathan Smith was Illinois’ gain. Just temporarily as it turns out. Bret Bielema swooped in when four-star offensive lineman Andrew Dennis opted to re-open his recruitment in the wake of Tucker’s firing last fall. The Illini ultimately landed the 6-foot-5, 290-pound Michigan native after beating out Penn State and Clemson, signed him in December and enrolled him in January to take part in winter workouts and spring ball.

Report: Illini forward Coleman Hawkins plans to enter transfer portal
Illinois senior forward Coleman Hawkins plans to enter the transfer portal by Wednesday's deadline, CBS Sports' Matt Norlander reports. Hawkins, who has played four seasons at Illinois, has an extra season of eligibility available due to the 2020-21 pandemic year. Hawkins declared for the NBA Draft earlier this month and plans to go through the pre-draft process while still considering a return to Illinois, Norlander reports.
