    Softball Recaps May 9-14

    Below are summaries of local softball games between May 9 and May 14, compiled by Sports Editor Nick Tabatt.

    Pioneers go 3-2 in last five games

    Its latest victory was beating Foley at home 11-2 Tuesday, May 14. Results were not made to the Record by Press Time.

    The Pioneers won another home game against Osakis, Monday May 13, winning 13-3. The Pioneers’ Kendra Melby went 4-4 at the plate, earning three runs and had four runs batted in.

    The Pioneers hosted Little Falls in a double header Friday, May 10. They won the first game 2-3, with Kenna Otte going 1-3 at the plate and having two runs batted in. The Pioneers lost the second game 15-14, with Lizz Gross earning three hits.

    The Pioneers traveled to play against St. Cloud Cathedral for the second time this season Thursday, May 9. The game was close, but the Pioneers fell short 3-2. Gross was 2-3 at the plate, with two double-base hits and a run.

    Flyers beat Mora and Milaca

    The Flyers beat Mora 13-2 in five innings Tuesday, May 14. Leah LeBlanc 2-4 at the plate, along with hitting two doubles. Maira Smude pitched all five innings of the game, throwing two strikeouts.

    The Flyers also traveled to play Foley Monday, May 13, winning 16-6. Hayli Hemingson was 2-4 at the plate. The Flyers had six hits, but had 15 walks and two errors. The Flyers hosted Milaca Thursday, May 9, walking away from a 11-10 victory. The y also traveled to Pierz to play in a double header Friday, May 10. They lost the first game 3-2, but won the second game 15-14. Results for both games were not made to the Record by Press Time.

    Cardinals win final home game

    The Upsala Cardinals won its last home game against Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Tuesday, May 14, winning 8-4. The Cardinals’ Hailie Luedke had one hit at the plate, and earned two runs. . Isabel Leners threw 16 strikeouts on the mound.

    The Cardinals traveled to Menaga Tuesday, May 14, unfortunately, losing 2-4. They hosted Mille Lacs Friday, May 10 and won 3-1. Results from both games were not made to the Record by Press Time.

    Bulldogs beat Osakis at home

    The Swanville Bulldogs beat Osakis 7-6 at home Tuesday, May 14. It was a walk off win after Ellie Johnson earned a walk at the bottom of the seventh inning. Addison Hudalla was 1-4, with a home run and having two runs batted in.
