Maryland State Police trooper involved in fatal Carroll County shooting identified
CARROLL COUNTY, Md. (WBFF) — The Maryland Attorney General's Office has identified the trooper that fatally shot a man in Carroll County over the weekend. The Attorney General's office said that Sergeant Jesse Hartsock shot 52-year-old Jack Cimino of Sykesville after a standoff that lasted from Saturday evening into Sunday morning.
Crash near Lewistown injures driver
A man was seriously injured after his car crashed near Lewistown on Tuesday, according to Frederick County Division of Fire and Rescue Services spokesperson Sarah Campbell. An emergency crew was called at 1:58 p.m. to the 10900 block of Putman Road, Campbell said in a phone interview.

A house fire early Tuesday in Frederick displaced one adult who lived there, according to Sarah Campbell, a spokesperson for the Frederick County Division of Fire and Rescue Services. The fire happened in the 1500 block of Havilland Place in Frederick, near the Golden Mile, Campbell said in an interview.
Three dead following crash in quarry near Union Bridge
Three people died after a car drove off the road and fell into a quarry in Union Bridge. The wreckage was discovered Sunday morning. FREDERICK, MD – The Frederick Police Department is seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a recent robbery. The incident occurred on May 10, 2023, at approximately 5:46 PM. Officers responded to the area of Hillcrest Drive and Lancaster Pl. in Frederick City, where a woman and her juvenile daughter had been assaulted and the woman’s purse stolen.
