SAVANNAH, Ga. — An organization that helps kids with the arts is receiving a big financial boost. Friday morning, Loop It Up Savannah received a $50,000 grant from the Genesis Inspiration Foundation. The foundation which is supported by Genesis Motor America awards the grants to various organization who’s mission it is to provide arts programs to children.
MILITARY MATTERS: Former Soldiers Are Running Across Georgia To Help Vets And Others
COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - “Run Across Georgia” is back this month - helping to raise thousands of dollars for local causes like House of Heroes which does free home repairs for vets. We talked to retired soldiers taking part. Relay teams will run across Georgia, 277 miles from Tybee Island to Columbus this Memorial Day weekend, raising money for two causes.

Savannah's first public fitness zone opens at Summerside Park
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The City of Savannah’s first public fitness zone is officially opened. The city celebrated the opening with a ribbon cutting at Summerside Park Saturday. The new state-of-the-art fitness zone has 11 outdoor exercise stations similar to what you’d see in a gym. That includes things like a chest press, lat pulldown, balance board, leg press, and an accessible hand cycle just to name a few. District 5 Alderwoman Estella Shabazz shared that the push for this project, really came from local residents.
