“Natural Sisters” in Joshua Tree closes after nearly 15 years
Last week, residents and returning visitors Joshua Tree were saddened to learn that longtime locally-owned restaurant Natural Sisters has closed. The closure was delivered with little fanfare, simply a sign in the window saying that the restaurant, known for salads, sandwiches, and juices, was permanently closed. The bustling outdoor patio, located on the corner of Twentynine Palms and Sunset Rd in downtown Joshua Tree, had gone quiet.
Art Reception Saturday, December 2 at 29 Palms Art Gallery
The 29 Palms Art Gallery will host an art reception on Saturday, Dec 2nd, to celebrate their latest exhibition. The gallery will be open all day, and reception hospitality will be served on the gallery patio from 4 to 6 p.m. The public is invited to attend and meet the artists. Admission is free.

65-Room Reset Hotel in Twentynine Palms Secures $11.2MM in Financing
Minneapolis, Minnesota – Reset Hotel, a new hotel coming to Twentynine Palms, a Palm Springs exurb adjacent to the North Entrance of Joshua Tree National Park, has started construction with $11.2 million in C-PACE financing from PACE Loan Group. Qualifying C-PACE improvements include plumbing, HVAC, electrical, lighting, building envelope, and seismic measures. The 30-year loan is combined with a $7.5 million first mortgage.
Joshua Tree Library selling paperbacks and DVDs for dimes and quarters
The Friends of the Joshua Tree Library are having a giant sale on books and movies through December 16th. During library hours you can get paperback books for 10 cents and all DVDs are only 50 cents. The Joshua Tree Library is open everyday except Fridays and Sundays – all proceeds from sales go back into the Joshua Tree Library for books, events and special programs.

Since 2010, locals have come to the festival to bid on holiday wreaths created by local businesses, service clubs and individuals.
