High school track and field postseason is underway. Teams and athletes have qualified for AHSAA state championships at sectionals. Here are 26 athletes to watch from the Tuscaloosa area this postseason:
Girls
Deja Hines, American Christian Academy
Why Chosen: Hines finished first in the 100-, 200- and 400-meter at sectionals, setting personal records of 12.14 seconds in the 100, 24.75 seconds in the 200, and 56.51 seconds in the 400.
Karis Kelley, American Christian Academy
Why Chosen: Kelly finished first in the 1600 and the 3200, as well as second in the 800 at sectionals. She set personal records of 5:28 in the 1600, 11:56 in the 3200, and 2:29 in the 800.
Tayla Human, American Christian Academy
Why Chosen: Human finished third in the 800, fourth in the 300-meter hurdles, and fourth in the triple jump. Human set personal records of 2:33 in the 800, 49.56 seconds in the 300 hurdles and a 32-4½ triple jump.
Erin Pernell, Northridge
Why Chosen: At sectionals, Pernell won first place in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 47.05 and the triple jump with 36-1½. She also came in second on the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.51 seconds.
Maya Hall, Northridge
Why Chosen: Hall won second both in the discus throw and javelin throw at sectionals.
Ceaira Wine, Northridge
Why Chosen: Wine won first in the high jump with a 5-02.
Harley McNeal, Northridge
Why Chosen: McNeal won first in the 200 with a time of 26.21 seconds and came in third in the 400 with a time of 59.69 seconds.

Isabella Bozeman, Sulligent
Why Chosen: Bozeman qualified for 2A state in the javelin throw.
Nikendra Anthony, Linden
Why Chosen: Anthony qualified in the 1A long jump and high jump.

Why Chosen: Zanders qualified in the 1A 100 and 100 hurdles.
Boys
Braden Ary, American Christian Academy
Why Chosen: Ary placed first in the 1600-meter and second in the 800 at sectionals. He set personal records of 4:21 in the 1600 and 1:57 in the 800.
Stephen Billman, American Christian Academy
Why Chosen: Billman placed second in the 1600 and the 3200 at sectionals. He set personal records of 4:34 in the 1600 and 9:51 in the 3200.
Carson Renicks, American Christian Academy
Why Chosen: Renicks placed fourth in the 1600 and first in the 3200 at sectionals, with personal records of 4:36 in the 1600 and 9:34 in the 3200.
Logan McPherson, American Christian Academy
Why Chosen: McPherson finished in fourth in the 3200 at sectionals with a personal record of 10:08.
Justin Phillips, South Lamar
Why Chosen: Phillips qualified for state on the 110-meter high hurdles.
Jackson Flanagan, South Lamar
Why Chosen: Flanagan qualified in the 100-meter dash.
Jennings Hinz, Northridge
Why Chosen: Hinz won first place in the long jump at 23 ½ and came in second in the high jump at 6-02.

Why Chosen: Lewis won first in the triple jump at 46-05 and second in the long jump at 22-11¼.
William Numnum, Northridge
Why Chosen: Numnum won first in the 300 hurdles (39.24 seconds) and the pole vault (14-06).
Shawn Stephenson, Northridge
Why Chosen: Stephenson won first in the 1600 with a time of 4:32 and came in second in the 3200 with a time of 10:01.
Sean Wyers, Winfield City
Why Chosen: Wyers qualified for state in the 3A boys javelin and discus throw.
Blake Cook, Fayette County
Why Chosen: Cook qualified in the boys 3A javelin throw.
Alexander Haefner, Tuscaloosa Academy
Why Chosen: Haefner qualified in the 2A 1600.
