March Madness is often a family affair, and Alabama star Mark Sears is getting the full experience.

Mark Sears' mom: Meet the breakout superfan of the NCAA Tournament

TBS cameras caught Lameka Sears mimicking her son's free throw routine when Sears went to the line on Sunday against Grand Canyon, going through the motions along with her son while the rest of the arena was focused on him.

The superstition has just arrived on the national stage, but Sears' mom has been mimicking his free throw stroke during games "since Mark was playing rec league basketball," Tuscaloosa News reported .

She took it to the next level by bringing a basketball with her for Sunday's game — maybe not a basketball she can dribble, but one shiny enough for all to see.

Cameras captured Sears' mom going through the same routine Friday when Alabama won its first-round game against Charleston. Sears was dominant in the victory, scoring 30 points to go along with four rebounds and five assists on 9-of-13 shooting.

The Sporting News second-team All-American has been one of the most efficient guards in the nation this season, entering Sunday averaging 21.4 points per game on 50.9 percent shooting (43.3 percent from 3-point range). His secret weapon? Family.

She may be in the biggest spotlight of her son's career now that he's taken the reins of Alabama's electrifying offense, but Lameka Sears has been a basketball mom all her life.

“If he’s on the line, I’m on the line," Lameka Sears told Tuscaloosa News earlier in March. For her, fashion is the name of the game. Lameka has "at least six or seven custom-made outfits," all dominated by sparkles, which she wears to her son's games.

Sears' mom isn't the first family member of a player to find the spotlight during the NCAA Tournament — the best recent example might be the father of former North Texas standout Javion Hamlet , who wore a sweater featuring his son's face and spent two games taking pictures with his iPad — but her support will become even more important if Alabama can secure a Sweet 16 date with North Carolina.
