Sellersburg, Indiana – For the second year in a row, Oral Roberts golfer Jackson Drake was named the Summit League Scholar of the Championship, League officials announced Sunday.

This is the second time Drake has earned this honor.

He first won after the award last year at the 2023 Summit League Championship.

Drake, a senior from Lubbock, Texas, is a history major at Oral Roberts Univesity in Tulsa.

He boasts a perfect 4.0 GPA. On top of his excellence in the classroom, Drake has put together a stellar senior campaign being named to the All-Summit League Second Team.

Drake holds the third-best stroke average among the Golden Eagles with 72.87.

He tied for first at the Missouri State Invitational earlier this season and secured a top-five and a pair of top-10 finishes as well.

The Scholar of the Championship award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative undergraduate grade-point average participating at each of the Summit League's 19 championships.

Each institution that is participating in a Summit League championship is eligible to submit one nominee for the Scholar of the Championship award.

    Selection Criteria:

    * 1. Student-athlete must be in at least their second year (i.e., third semester or fourth quarter) of full-time enrollment at the nominating member institution.

    * 2. Student-athlete must be in at least their second season of competition at the nominating member institution and have triggered use of at least one season of competition in the sport in which the student-athlete is nominated.

    * 3. Student-athlete must be an active member on the institution's roster, eligible for the Summit League championship, and designated as a participating student-athlete on the member institution's Summit League championship travel party roster

Oral Roberts is described in promotional material as "a spirit-empowered" institution of higher education. Its graduates serve in ministries worldwide, and permeate the secular worlds of business, military service and other fields. The university is rooted in the Charismatic traditions, dating back of Apostolic times, of the Christian faith.
