More ‘Thunder’ at museum

“Thunder on the Three Notch” continues today at the Pioneer Museum of Alabama with a special program by Michelle “Morning Star” Gilmore, Tribal Chief, Southeastern Mvskoke Nation, titled “Their Life, Their Path, Their Story, My Ancestors” ”and it’s a not-to-be missed event, said Barbara Tatom, museum director.

“Thunder on the Three Notch” will continue today at the Pioneer Museum of Alabama with a special program by Michelle “Morning Star” Gilmore. The program will be given at 1 p.m.

“We are excited and honored to have Michelle Gilmore speak at the Pioneer Museum of Alabama,” Tatom said. “Michelle’s program is a highlight of today’s activities and is included in the price of admission to ‘Thunder.’

“Thunder on the Three Notch” at the Pioneer Museum of Alabama will continue throughout the day with the Battle at Hobdy’s Bridge between the Creek Indians and the settlers at 2 p.m. On the museum grounds, there are living history encampments, hands on history opportunities and a cook in the Demo cabin, a teacher in the Little Red School and a storekeeper in the country store.

“There is something of interest at every turn,” Tatom said. “Of course, admission to “Thunder” includes visiting the Pioneer Museum with more than 18,000 artifacts.”

Sydni Sykes will entertain throughout the afternoon inside the museum.
