Leo C. Pavelco, of Slatington, was burning brush at his home when his clothing caught fire around 5 p.m. April 22, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio said. Pavelco was hospitalized with burns covering 30.5% of his body, and died on May 3, just after 8 p.m., at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, Buglio said.

Two men stole two tankloads of spent cooking oil last month from Lehigh County businesses, state police said. Pennsylvania State Police in Bethlehem stopped the thieves headed east on Route 22 near Schoenersville Road after 8 a.m. April 13. A high-speed crash has left one man dead and a car dealership with nearly $1 million in damages in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning, involved Abeil Adilow, 27, of Philadelphia, who lost control of his vehicle and crashed into Bennett Toyota, causing substantial damage to the property and several vehicles on the lot.
