Projects in Lehigh and Northampton counties are sharing in more than $16 million in grants awarded March 16 by the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Financing Authority. The money awarded locally comes from two sources, with $12.7 million earmarked for the two counties from the Local Share Account that is supported by gambling proceeds in Pennsylvania. The authority awarded $263 million in statewide Local Share Account grants.

Macungie Man Charged with Homicide and Aggravated Assault in Allentown
ALLENTOWN, PA – Yesterday, District Attorney Jim Martin and Allentown Police Chief Charles Roca announced the arrest of Hosheem Johnnyray Klotz, 30, of Macungie, on charges of criminal homicide and aggravated assault. On March 9, 2023, Allentown Police responded to North 10th and Linden streets and found the victim, Mastapha Brown, seated on the curb. An investigation revealed Klotz had assaulted Brown after an argument at a nearby restaurant. Video surveillance showed Klotz striking Brown multiple times in the head and face before stomping on his head. Klotz now faces felony charges of criminal homicide and aggravated assault.
