SCCRTC Parking Lot Trial Set for Oct. 19
The trial over who owns part of an Aptos parking lot is now scheduled for Oct. 19, more than three months after the case was originally expected to go to trial. Santa Cruz County Superior Court Judge Syda Kosofsky Cogliati is scheduled to preside over the court trial beginning at 9 a.m. in Department 5, according to a court document filed Sept. 29.

Friday morning traffic: Highway 1 semi fire blocks lanes; Graham Hill car fire closes road
A large white semi truck with an open trailer pulled over to the right shoulder on southbound Highway 1 near Morrissey after its cargo caught fire. The driver tried to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher. The fire caused heavy smoke and flames, blocking lanes 1, 2, and 3, so traffic was diverted onto the right shoulder. CALTRANS and fire crews responded to the scene. The incident was reported today on Highway 1 southbound at Morrissey, between Morrissey and Soquel, Eastside / Live Oak.
