Major injury crash being investigated in Santa Cruz County
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CALIF. (KION-TV)- Santa Cruz CHP is investigating a crash that left one person with major injuries in Santa Cruz County Wednesday morning. According to officials, officers responded to a car striking a pedestrian at around 4:50 a.m. just outside of Watsonville. At the time of the incident, a 73-year-old man from Aptos was driving a white Tesla Model Y on Airport Boulevard, east of Pajaro Lane. At the same time, the victim, a 63 year old man from Watsonville, was walking on Airport Boulevard, east of the Tesla.

Hollister council renews wastewater contract

The contract with Veolia Water West Operating Services Inc., which provides water and wastewater services, is set to expire Aug. 2. Councilmembers Tim Burns, Dolores Morales and Rick Perez directed legal counsel Mary F. Lerner to negotiate the contract from a six-year term to a two-to-four-year term.
