College signings for May 8, 2024

PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD/WYZZ) — Area schools held signing ceremonies for their college-bound student-athletes on Wednesday.

Tremont honored seven seniors who will play sports in college. Olivia Avalos (College of Lake County softball), Caleb Edwards (Spoon River College baseball), Cassidee Bauer (Illinois Central College softball), Maia Lorengo (Lincoln Land Community College softball), Isaiah Porritt (Arizona Christian University swimming), Emma Schweigert (Carl Sandburg College volleyball) and Emma Whitcomb (Cornerstone University volleyball) announced their college choices as a ceremony in the school gym.

Three Manual High School football players made their college choices official. Nas King (Illinois Wesleyan University), Bryson Dailey (Greenville University) and Mikal Miller (College of DuPage) will play football in college.

Washington High School hosted a signing ceremony for seven seniors: Sam Tellefson (Marist College cross country and track), Emma Heidbreder (Saint Xavier basketball), Cael Miller (Bellarmine University wrestling), Eli Gonzalez (St. Ambrose wrestling), Brooklyn Ulick (University of Illinois cheer), Trisa Bass (Loras College basketball) and Kara Tiesman (St. Louis University dance team).
