    Police chase crosses county lines, ends in Jackson Co.

    JACKSON COUNTY ( KSNT ) — A car chase involving multiple law enforcement agencies that started in Topeka ended in Jackson County.

    Just after 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received information that the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) was in pursuit of a small pickup truck in central Topeka. According to a news release from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle entered Jackson County from Topeka Boulevard on 94th Street heading north on U.4 Road.

    Deputies with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deployed stop sticks, which disabled the vehicle, according to the release. Jackson County EMS responded to the scene and transported the driver to a Topeka hospital for further evaluation. A spokeswoman with the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office told 27 News deputies from the Shawnee County deputies assisted KHP in this pursuit.
