The second day of the Christopher Gregor trial began with some drama Wednesday morning in Toms River when the judge dismissed a female juror before testimony got underway. The trial resumed with the 15 remaining judges.

Gregor faces child endangerment and murder charges in the death of 6-year-old Corey Micciolo back on April 2, 2021.

During the final cross-examination of Corey’s mother Bre Micciolo, defense attorney Mario Gullucci got her to admit to throwing dead fish at Gregor’s parents' house following the boy’s death. Prosecutors then called Corey’s first-grade teacher Kim Peace to the stand, who says she saw multiple bruises on the boy’s body.

Assistant prosecutor Jamie Schron questioned Peace about what she saw.

"And what if any observations did you make of Corey when you saw him virtually on March 29?” Schron asked.

“I saw bruises on his cheek,” Peace replied.

“Is that the same as what you were describing from March 23?” asked Schron.

Peace said “No.” When Scron asked if Croey attended school virtually on March 30, Peace said that he did and also stated she still observed the bruises.

Prosecutors are expected on Thursday to call several doctors to the stand to testify regarding the injuries and bruises Corey sustained following the March 20, 2021 treadmill incident.

This incident was shown in a video in the courtroom during the first day of the trial. Gregor appears to be seen repeatedly forcing the boy back on the treadmill, despite falling off multiple times.
