Police in Toms River are searching for thieves who stole an entire safe and cash register from a restaurant in Toms River.

This all happened just before 2 a.m. Tuesday at Breakin Bread Eatery. Police say they’re now investigating a second break-in from that same morning. The owners of the eatery say they have to replace thousands of dollars’ worth of damages.

Surveillance footage shows one of the thieves throwing what looks like a cinder block through the front door of the restaurant.

The suspects are shown carrying a cash register and then going back in to grab a huge safe that was behind the counter. The suspects then reportedly went around the corner to Marimac Street where a car was parked, and they loaded everything in that vehicle before fleeing the scene.

The owners say there were damages behind the counter along with the front door, which they were able to get replaced pretty quickly.

"I was shocked. We moved down here from North Jersey trying to get away from some crime like this and apparently it's everywhere,” said owner Pete Norcia.

Store owners at Breakin Bread Eatery say they are not sure why they were targeted. Police have not shared whether they have any leads on the suspects just yet.
