Florence man jailed in February Timmonsville shooting that injured 1

TIMMONSVILLE, S.C. (WBTW) — A Florence man was jailed Monday on multiple charges in a February shooting in Timmonsville that injured one person.

Javaris Rashawn Jackson, 29, was charged with discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle, assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and failure to appear.

Timmonsville police on Feb. 16 responded to Timmonsville Green Apartments for a shooting, according to an incident report obtained by News13. When officers arrived, they found a gunshot victim on Smith Street in front of the fire department.

Police found shell casings and a puddle of blood near the entrance to the apartments, the report said. They also found more shell casings and an unoccupied vehicle at the back of the apartments.

Two people were found hiding behind a shed and were detained shortly after the shooting, according to the report. Police Chief James Allen the day of the shooting that “several persons of interest” were detained.

Deandre Samuel and a juvenile were jailed after the shooting. Allen told News13 on Tuesday that the case involves multiple juveniles and is still under investigation.
