1 stabbed, killed in Three Rivers; 1 arrested

THREE RIVERS, Mich. (WOOD) — A man was arrested after another man was killed in a Sunday evening stabbing in Three Rivers.

Around 11:50 p.m., officers with the Three Rivers Police Department were sent to Fourth Avenue near E Michigan Avenue after receiving reports of people screaming.

Responding officers found a man who had been stabbed and a suspect at the scene.

The victim, a 61-year-old Three Rivers man, was airlifted to the hospital where he died, the police department said.

The suspect, a 46-year-old Three Rivers man, was taken into custody. The police department said he is being held in the St. Joseph County Jail on charges of open murder.

The St. Joseph County Major Crime Task Force was called to the scene to assist due to the severity of the crime, the police department said.
