THOMASVILLE, N.C. (WGHP) — An arrest has been made after a double homicide in Thomasville.

According to police, they were called to the Budget Inn on North Road about a body being found in a room on Tuesday just before 5 p.m.

At the scene, they found two men who had been shot to death. One of the men has been identified as Javon McCall, 40, of High Point. The second victim’s name is not being released until his family can be notified.

Police say that they were able to identify a suspect “early” in the investigation.

“TPD detectives are to be commended for their quick and efficient work in identifying and arresting a suspect within the first 12 hours of the investigation,” said Captain Brad Saintsing. “The suspect and victims were acquaintances and this does not appear to be a random act.”

Christopher James Rhodes, 40, of Thomasville, was charged with two counts of murder. He was located in High Point with assistance from the High Point Police Department.

Police are not saying why the shooting happened.
