Handgun discharged by woman inside Thomaston Walmart
THOMASTON — A handgun was discharged by a woman inside the Thomaston Walmart store on May 10. According to footage from Walmart’s security video, a woman was seen walking down one of the store’s aisles and as she reached into her purse, her handgun fired, said Thomaston Police Sgt. Chris Hansen.

ROCKPORT — Pen Bay Medical Center welcomes Julia Hutchings-Sakaue and Chanya Elkins, third-year medical students enrolled in the Maine Track program of Tufts University School of Medicine. They will spend the next nine months rotating through the departments of Psychiatry, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Surgery and Family Medicine, among others.
Waldoboro man sentenced to 15 months in prison for role in January 6th riots
PORTLAND (WGME) -- A Maine man who pleaded guilty to assaulting law enforcement officers at the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6 riots has been sentenced to 15 months in prison. According to the court documents, Matthew Brackley of Waldoboro assaulted two officers during the riot and led a crowd towards the Senate before being pushed back by chemical spray.
