Arizona State women's golf is officially in the mix for the 2024 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships on May 17-22.

The championships will be played at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California. Regional play began on Monday at six different sites. The top five teams at each site advanced to the championship along with the top individual not on an advancing team.

Those regional sites were Auburn, Alabama; Bermuda Run, North Carolina; Bryan, Texas; Cle Elum, Washington; East Lansing, Michigan, and Las Vegas. ASU played at the Cle Elum Regional and finished fourth.

The other schools to make it from that region are: Stanford (first place), Duke (2nd), Virginia (3rd) and San Jose State (5th).

At the championships, these 30 teams and six individual golfers will go through 54 holes of stroke play. Then, the top 15 teams compete for one more day of stroke play. The top nine individual athletes, who are not part of those top 15 teams will do the same.

The top eight advance to match play competition, which will decide the national champion. The individual champion is determined by the 72 holes of stroke play.
