HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – The Tell City Fire Department paid tribute to a Larry A. James, a former Central Perry Volunteer Department firefighter that passed away on April 30, by raising the American flag by one of their trucks.

The CPVFD stated on social media that James was with the agency for more than 40 years and contributed to hundreds, if not thousands of hours to emergency response in the community.

“Larry exemplified what it means to be a community servant, and to him, we will be forever grateful. May he rest in peace,” said the CPVFD.

The Tell City Police Department posted a picture of the tribute on social media.

“Hats off to Larry and all our community safety partners with local fire departments,” said the department.
