A Leesburg man wanted out of Lake County was arrested for drug possession despite trying to hide from law enforcement in a car. Police responded to 323 Sandy Oak Court on Sept. 23 in reference to a possible known subject wanted with Lake County warrants. The caller believed the subject, later identified as 35-year-old Bryant Wallace, was sitting in a green four-door vehicle that was backed into a parking spot.

A Leesburg man was arrested on a charge of retail theft after allegedly stuffing his pants with stolen clothes and running away from Walmart employees. Police responded to Walmart, located at 2501 Citrus Boulevard, in reference to an active retail theft at 10:48 p.m. Sept. 22, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. The caller advised that a man matching 52-year-old Clarence Oneal Green’s description stuffed clothing inside his pants.

A Lady Lake Police Department K-9 unit assisted in a drug arrest at a local Walmart. K-9 Ember and her handler were summoned in the wee hours Wednesday morning after a Fruitland Park police officer followed a block Ford Escape on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 and initiated a traffic stop at Walmart in Leesburg.

Villager’s long-troubled son lands in jail on fresh drug charges
A Villager’s long-troubled son has landed back in jail on fresh drug charges. Andrew Lawrence Simpson, 48, who lives with his mother in the Natalie Villas in the Village of Mallory Square, was arrested Friday night by Fruitland Park police on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while license suspended. He was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $3,500 bond.
