    Top Greater Taunton H.S. sports performers for April 29-May 5

    Another week of the spring high school sports season is upon us in the Greater Taunton area.

    Last week , a Taunton freshman and a Dighton-Rehoboth senior continued their hot streaks at the plate in softball while Taunton baseball earned a solid win over Attleboro , Dighton-Rehoboth baseball held off a resurgent Apponequet squad , a few local relay teams scored wins at the MSTCA Relays, including a new school record time, a Dighton-Rehoboth girls lacrosse player reached a career milestone, Taunton boys lacrosse earned a non-league win over New Bedford and Bridgewater-Raynham boys and girls tennis both swept Brockton.

    Here's a look at all of the stats, scores and highlights from the last few days of April and the first few days of May.

    Thursday

    Baseball

    Jack Haley led the way at the plate for Bridgewater-Raynham (5-7, 2-2 SEC), going 2-for-3 with a walk as the Trojans fell 9-0 to Weymouth on the road in non-league action. Cam Santos took the loss for B-R after going 4⅔ innings giving up nine runs (two earned) on six hits and a walk while striking out six. Camden Swinton went ⅓ of an inning giving up a hit before Jace Chapman tossed the final shutout inning giving up a walk.

    Colby Robertson led the way at the plate for Bristol-Plymouth (3-7, 3-3 MAC), going 1-for-2 with a double and a run as the Craftsmen fell 4-1 to Diman on the road in MAC action. Kyle Weldon went 1-for-3 with an RBI while Antonio Cirino went 2-for-3. Colton Carvalho took the loss for B-P after going all six innings giving up four runs (one earned) on five hits and four walks while striking out two.

    Charlie Roth hit a triple while Ben Miller hit a double as Dighton-Rehoboth (7-5, 5-4 SCC) fell 13-0 to Seekonk on the road in 4½ innings of SCC action. Cole Viveiros took the loss for D-R after going 2⅓ innings giving up eight runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out five. Ace Fortin tossed the final 1⅔ innings giving up five runs on five hits and three walks while striking out one.

    Softball

    Bridgewater-Raynham (5-5, 2-1 SEC) fell 5-2 to Walpole on the road in non-league action.

    Izzy Torres led the way at the plate for Bristol-Plymouth (7-4, 5-1 MAC), going 1-for-3 with a pair of RBIs as the Craftsmen beat Diman 7-2 at home in MAC action. Molly Clark went 1-for-3 with a pair of runs and an RBI while Bree Aldrich went 1-for-4 with a pair of runs, Aubrey Mabrouk went 1-for-4 with a triple and a run, Jessica Slavick went 1-for-4 with a run and Shelby Estrella and Ari Richards both went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Gabrianna Arrighi earned the win for B-P after going all seven innings giving up two runs (one earned) on 11 hits while striking out 12.

    Boys Lacrosse

    Jack Swan led the way for Dighton-Rehoboth (4-6, 3-4 SCC) with six goals, three assists and seven ground balls as the Falcons beat Greater New Bedford 16-5 on the road in SCC action. Jaiden Solitro had five goals and an assist while Jason Proctor had a pair of goals and an assist, Fletcher O'Connor had a goal and three assists, Chris Rego had a goal and a pair of assists, Ryan Proctor had a goal and Brody Pettinato recorded an assist.

    Boys Tennis

    Bridgewater-Raynham (2-5, 2-2) fell 4-1 to Dartmouth on the road in SEC action.

    Girls Tennis

    Nicole Kimball won first singles 6-0, 6-3 while Caroline Stull won third singles 6-0, 6-4 as Bridgewater-Raynham (6-3, 3-1 SEC) fell 3-2 to Dartmouth at home in SEC action.

    Boys Volleyball

    Ian Hoskins led the way for Dighton-Rehoboth (9-4, 8-2 TVL) with 12 kills while Yasiel Rodriguez had 19 assists and Connar Dexter had six blocks as the Falcons swept Norwood 3-0 (25-18, 25-14 and 26-24) at home in TVL action. With the win, D-R qualified for the postseason for the first time in 20 years.

    Wednesday

    Baseball

    Jared Spencer led the way at the plate for Taunton (10-4, 8-2 Hockomock), going 2-for-3 with a run as the Tigers fell 3-1 to King Philip at home in Hockomock action. Cam Dorr went 1-for-2 with an RBI while Dwayne Burgo went 2-for-3. Brady Morin took the loss after going all seven innings giving up three runs on six hits and a pair of walks while striking out five.

    Will LaBrie led the way for Dighton-Rehoboth (7-4, 5-3 SCC), going all six innings giving up an unearned run on four hits and three walks while striking out four as the Falcons fell 1-0 to Somerset Berkley on the road in SCC action. Brennan Silva had a double while Charlie Roth singled for the two D-R hits of the day.

    Softball

    Madison Crowley and Aniyah Bailey both led the way at the plate for Taunton (11-0, 9-0 Hockomock), going 2-for-4 with a home run, run and a pair of RBIs as the Tigers beat King Philip 5-1 on the road in Hockomock action. Bella Bourque went 2-for-4 with a run while Cate Larson went 1-for-3 with a run and an RBI. Sam Lincoln earned the win after going all seven innings giving up a run on five hits and three walks while striking out 13 and went 2-for-3 at the plate.

    Lucy Latour led the way at the plate for Dighton-Rehoboth (10-2, 6-2 SCC), going 3-for-4 with a pair of runs and five RBIs as the Falcons beat Somerset Berkley 18-6 on the road in five innings of SCC action. Cam Cloonan went 4-for-5 with three runs and a pair of RBIs while Haleigh Kelley went 2-for-4 with a home run, run and four RBIs, Caleigh Cloonan went 2-for-3 with three runs and an RBI, Ally Bastis went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs, Corinne Braga went 1-for-3 with a pair of runs, Izzy Moss went 2-for-5 with a pair of runs and an RBI and Skye Harrison went 0-for-2 with three runs. Edy Latour earned the win for D-R after tossing the final three innings in relief giving up a pair of runs on four hits and a walk while striking out two. Kylie Hillier started and went two innings giving up four runs on five hits.

    Boys Lacrosse

    Taunton (2-8, 1-7 Hockomock) fell 19-0 to King Philip at home in Hockomock action.

    James Dolan led the way for Bristol-Plymouth (6-5, 6-5 MAC) with five goals and an assist as the Craftsmen beat Blue Hills 12-10 at home in MAC action. Shane Russo had a hattrick and an assist while Jack Nickerson had a goal and three assists, Alex Tricinni had a pair of goals, Landon Pearson had a goal an Ike Drass recorded an assist.

    Ryan Proctor had a pair of goals as Dighton-Rehoboth (3-6, 2-4 SCC) fell 21-8 to Apponequet on the road in SCC action.

    Girls Lacrosse

    Maddi Szala led the way for Taunton (0-9, 0-8 Hockomock) with a hattrick and an assist as the Tigers fell 19-6 to King Philip on the road in Hockomock action. Cali Melo had a pair of goals and an assist while Madison Cardoso also found the back of the net and Taryn Campbell and Nidaliz Rivera each recorded an assist.

    Karina Bosco led the way for Dighton-Rehoboth (4-4, 2-3 SCC) with six goals, an assist and 15 draws as the Falcons fell 17-16 in overtime to Apponequet at home in SCC action. Gia Papa had four goals and a pair of assists while Mara Levesque had a hattrick and an assist, Olivia Thibert made a hattrick, Ainsley Zibrida had a pair of assists and Ava Morgado had an assist and three draws. Phoebe Braga made a career-high 21 saves in net for D-R.

    Boys Tennis

    Taunton (0-10, 0-9 Hockomock) fell 5-0 to King Philip on the road in Hockomock action.

    Girls Tennis

    Sarah Riveiro won first singles 6-1, 6-4 while Ava Alves won third singles 6-2, 6-1 and the duo of Janelle Garcia and Ava Olivedesa won first doubles 6-3, 6-2 as Taunton (8-2, 7-2 Hockomock) beat King Philip 3-2 at home in Hockomock action.

    Boys Track and Field

    Amin Abbassi won both the discus and javelin as Bridgewater-Raynham (3-0, 3-0 SEC) defeated Durfee 132-3 on the road in an SEC dual meet. Other winners for the Trojans include Kauan Bento inn the 100 meter, Malik Washburn in the 100 meter hurdles, Evan Bray in the 200 meter, Dan Leet in the 400 meter, Anthony Matta in the 400 meter hurdles, Josh Geer in the two mile, Joey Manning , Bray, Connor Johnson and Bento in the 4x100 meter relay, Riley Frisch , Cole Bridges , Josh Geer and Brian Peters in the 4x400, Bryce Sullivan Evans in the shot put, Caleb Vidal in the high jump, Marqui Galvin in the long jump and Caiden Blake in the triple jump.

    Girls Track and Field

    Camden Strandberg won both the mile and the high jump while Alisha Gomes won both the 100 meter and 200 meter, Brenna Woodbury won both the 400 meter and 800 meter as Bridgewater-Raynham (3-0, 3-0 SEC) beat Durfee 97-39 on the road in an SEC dual meet. Other winners include the 4x100 meter relay team of Strandberg, Enna Mitchell , Cori Cahill and Lily Giurleo , Molly Jesson won the two mile, Kelsey Dessaps won the long jump and Christian Wise won the triple jump.

    Boys Volleyball

    Daniel Freitas led the way for Taunton (3-9) with 27 assists as the Tigers fell 3-1 (26-24, 13-25, 19-25 and 20-25) to the Hilltoppers on the road. Travis Johnson had 14 kills while Ikechukwu Asiegbunam had seven kills and Syre Duverna had six kills.

    Ian Hoskins led the way for Dighton-Rehoboth (8-4, 7-2 TVL) with 16 kills as the Falcons beat King Philip 3-1 (25-19, 23-25, 25-17 and 25-19) at home in TVL action. Yasiel Rodriguez had 32 assists while Sam Courcy had 17 digs and Connar Dexter had 11 blocks

    Tuesday

    Softball

    Bree Aldrich led the way at the plate for Bristol-Plymouth (6-4, 4-1 MAC), going 2-for-4 with a home run, four runs and three RBIs as the Craftsmen beat Westport 15-5 on the road in MAC action. Shelby Estrella went 3-for-3 with a home run, a pair of runs and a pair of RBIs while Isabella Torres and Jessica Slavick both went 2-for-4 with a run and three RBIs and Taryn Geer went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs. Aubrey Mabrouk earned the win for B-P after going five innings giving up five runs (two earned) on six hits while striking out two. Gabrianna Arrighi tossed the remaining two shutout innings striking out five.

    Boys Lacrosse

    Jayson Kelleher notched his 100th career point as he led the way for Bridgewater-Raynham (7-3) with four goals and a pair of assists in a 13-5 win over Newton South at home. Brendan Rosher had a hattrick and three assists while Colin Carfagna had a pair of goals and three assists and Nikos Triantafillou had a pair of goals and a pair of assists.

    Girls Lacrosse

    Emily Keefe led the way for Bridgewater-Raynham (3-7, 1-0 SEC) with four goals and an assist while Claire Fitzsimmons and Erin Rennie both found the back of the net as the Trojans fell 14-6 to Nantucket on the road in non-league action. Ainsley Yates made 13 saves in net for B-R.

    Boys Tennis

    Taunton (0-9, 0-8 Hockomock) fell 5-0 to Mansfield on the road in Hockomock action.

    Girls Tennis

    Morgan Smith won first singles 6-2, 4-6, 10-7 while Ava Olivadesa won second singles 6-1, 6-1, Ava Alves won third singles 6-1, 6-0 and the duo of Sam Parrett and Chrisha Charls won second doubles 6-2, 6-4 as Taunton (7-2, 6-2 Hockomock) beat Mansfield 4-1 at home in Hockomock action.

    Dighton-Rehoboth (1-6, 1-4 SCC) fell 4-1 to Somerset Berkley on the road in SCC action.

    Boys Track and Field

    Dmitrius Shearrion led the way for Taunton, winning both the 100 meter (0:10.6) and 400 meter (0:50.4, personal best) as the Tigers beat North Attleboro 66-43 in a Hockomock dual meet. Also scoring wins were Usman Yusif in the 200 meter (0:23.3), Drew Alves in the 110 meter hurdles (0:16.3), Ancil Alexander in the shot put (49'6.75"), Anthony Petijohn in the long jump (21'1"), Kenzel Jeanmichel in the triple jump (45', personal best) and the 4x100 meter relay team of Mekhi Powell , Andrew Elijah Brown , Elderson Moreira and Carlos Cruz (0:45.4).

    Girls Track and Field

    Bella Coughlin won the triple jump with a personal best distance of 34'5" as Taunton fell 70-39 to North Attleboro at home in a Hockomock dual meet. Also scoring wins for the Tigers were Emersyn DePonte in the mile (5:25.6), Renee Leao in the 100 meter hurdles (0:17.2) and the 4x100 meter relay team of Sophia Hall , Larissa Cardoso , Joey Claudio and Shauna Belgrave (0:54.9).

    Christopher Wallace led the way at the plate for Taunton (10-3, 8-1 Hockomock League), going 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI as the Tigers beat Oliver Ames 5-4 at home in Hockomock action. Jared Spencer went 1-for-2 with a run and a pair of RBIs while Dwayne Burgo went 1-for-3 with a pair of runs, Caden Lindskog went 1-for-3 with a run and Andrew Cali went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Johnny Escobalez earned the win, going four innings giving up three runs (two earned) on a pair of hits and four walks while striking out three. Ryan Crowley went an inning in relief giving up a run on a pair of hits and a walk while Tyler Lacerda tossed the final two shutout innings striking out two.

    Tyler Cattoggio led the way at the plate for Bridgewater-Raynham (5-6, 2-2 Southeast Conference), going 2-for-3 with a pair of runs and four RBIs off a pair of home runs as the Trojans beat New Bedford 8-1 at home in SEC action. Bobby Quill went 3-for-3 with a pair of runs and an RBI while Ryan Mahoney went 1-for-3 with a pair of runs. Jack Ritchie earned the win for B-R after going six shutout innings giving up three hits and a pair of walks while striking out three. Vincent Tavares tossed the final inning giving up a run on a hit and three walks.

    Bella Bourque led the way at the plate for Taunton (10-0, 8-0 Hockomock), going 1-for-4 with a pair of runs, including scoring the walk-off run off a past ball as the Tigers beat Bishop Feehan 4-3 at home in eight innings of non-league action. Aniyah Bailey went 1-for-2 with a run and an RBI while Madison Crowley went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Brooke Aldrich went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Sam Lincoln earned the win after going all eight inning giving up three runs (two earned) on five hits while striking out 14.

    Chloe Martin was the losing pitcher while Maddy DeLano hit an RBI double as Bridgewater-Raynham (5-4, 2-1 SEC) as the Trojans fell 10-4 to New Bedford on the road in SEC action.

Rachael Spooner had a pair of goals while Sabrina Wolfe , Aubrey Duprey , Addie Melusky , Kelsie Farrah and Sophia Jacobs all found the back of the net and Nevaeh McGuire recorded an assist.

    Bridgewater-Raynham (2-5, 2-1 SEC) fell 4-1 to Falmouth at home in non-league action.

    Dighton-Rehoboth (3-2, 2-1 SCC) fell 4-1 to Wareham at home in non-league action.

    Girls Tennis

    Morgan Smith won second singles 4-6, 6-1, 10-5 while Ava Alves won third singles 6-0, 6-0, the duo of Janelle Garcia and Ava Olivadesa won first doubles 6-1, 6-4 and the duo of Caroline Pietnik and Sam Parrett won second doubles 6-4, 6-0 as Taunton (6-2, 5-2 Hockomock) beat Oliver Ames 4-1 at home in Hockomock action.

    Nicole Kimball won first singles 6-1, 6-0 while the duo of Lily Cooley and Tamia McQueen won first doubles 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 and the duo of Chloe Nichols and Selena Georgakopolos won second doubles 7-5, 6-2 as Bridgewater-Raynham (6-2, 3-0 SEC) beat Falmouth 3-2 on the road in non-league action.

    Dighton-Rehoboth (1-5, 1-3 SCC) fell 3-2 to Wareham on the road in non-league action.

    Boys Volleyball

    Dantae Bauer led the way for Taunton (3-8) with 16 assists while Syre Duverna had eight kills, Travis Johnson had six kills and Maddox Chaves had four digs as the Tigers beat Attleboro 3-0 (25-11, 25-17, 25-15) at home.

    Yasiel Rodriguez led the way for Dighton-Rehoboth (7-4, 6-2 Tri-Valley League) with 35 assists while Ian Hoskins had 17 kills and Connar Dexter had 10 blocks as the Falcons fell 3-2 (25-17, 25-27, 12-25, 25-15 and 13-15) to Bellingham on the road in TVL action.
