TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. (WFLA) — A man was arrested after he told Tarpon Springs police officers that he shot his roommate early Tuesday, the police department said.

Officers said they were called to a home on Clarissa Court around 2:42 a.m. for a disturbance.

When officers arrived, they said they found a 45-year-old man with an apparent gunshot wound.

The man’s roommate, 54-year-old Richard Lewis, told officers that he shot the 45-year-old.

The 45-year-old man was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Lewis was charged with first-degree murder and is being held without bond in the Pinellas County Jail.
