4 Arrested After Fight In SOHO Area Of Tampa Ends In Gunfire

TAMPA, Fla. – Four people have been arrested after an early morning altercation resulted in shots fired in the SOHO area of Tampa.

According to police, shortly after 2:30 am, officers on specialty patrol in the SOHO area were responding to a fight when they heard shots fired nearby and immediately responded to the gunfire.

During the investigation, officers learned the incident started with a fight among several adults in a parking lot on the corner of South Howard Avenue and DeLeon Street.

Kelvin Terry told police he had been punched, and his friend had been hit by several people.

During the altercation, Terry admitted to firing shots. No one reported any injuries from the shots fired, but a nearby building was struck several times.

As a result of the incident, several people were arrested and face the following charges:

• Tomia Gay: Battery
• Santrice West: Battery, Introduction of Contraband into a Detention Facility
• Derrick Hunter Jr: Battery
• Kelvin Terry: Shooting At Within or Into A Building, Discharge Firearm into Public or Residential Property
