    PD: Coop set on fire kills chicken, charges filed

    POCONO TWP., MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man is facing charges after police said he set a chicken coop on fire killing one chicken.

    On Saturday, April 27 around 10:40 p.m., Pocono Township Police Department was called to a home in Swiftwater for an incident.

    Through further investigation, police stated Dwayne Nicholas, 52 from Swiftwater, set a victim’s clothes and chicken coop on fire.

    Man arrested for alleged stabbing over tool dispute

    Officers said they found the burned clothes in the fire pit and the chicken coop with black residue from the fire that killed one chicken and injured two more.

    The victim was not home at the time and was receiving threats over the phone after this all took place, police stated.

    Nicholas was taken to Monroe County Correctional Facility on the charges of terroristic threats, cruelty to animals, and other related offenses.
