Foggy start, Memorial Day is cooler with rain and thunderstorms possible
Keep an eye out for patchy fog if you will be traveling on Memorial Day, low clouds and light rain are possible through Monday morning and early afternoon. By late afternoon to early evening, a line of heavy downpours with embedded thunderstorms will begin to push over the area. Monday into very early Tuesday morning, the heaviest and nosiest round of rain and storms move through ahead of a cold front.
Boston Police Department remembers Officer Donald Brown 50 years after his death
The Boston Police Department is remembering the public service of Officer Donald Brown, who was killed during a robbery in Roslindale 50 years ago to the day on Friday. Brown, 64, was shot and killed at the American Legion Shopping Center on May 24, 1974, Boston police said in a press release. He was escorting a local store manager to a bank when the pair was confronted by four suspects. The officer was shot while attempting to fire his service weapon.
