Long-awaited Portillo's opens its doors in Surprise

The long wait for Portillo’s in Surprise is over.

The hot dog shop held its grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony on May 7 in the Prasada North area of the city.

During the event, Portillo’s donated $5,000 each to Dysart Education Foundation and the St. Mary’s Food Bank.

Among those who spoke at the ceremony were Vice President Restaurant Support Michael R. Portillo, Northwest Valley Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Raoul Sada and Surprise Mayor Skip Hall.

The restaurant is open daily at 16320 W. Waddell Road.
