The Sun City West Pickleball club worked hard and played hard  this season and celebrated with a big party.

Throughout the fall and winter, the Sun City West Pickleball Club had a lot of events,  including  three club tournaments: the Fall Classic, the Snowbirds vs Sweatbirds and the Spring Club Championship.  Reciprocal challenges were played against Sun City’s pickleball club with four “tournaments” November through February.

The Sun City West Pickleball Club  raised over $61,000 for seven local charities with the FITS Tournament and Ball Drop that spanned three days of Fun In The Sun play with players from around the country and  Canada.

Club events throughout the year that included food, dancing, prizes and  pickleball.   This is a huge program sponsored by Saini Smiles Dentistry.  The Intro to Pickleball class had over 180 participants who had never played pickleball before.  Overall, the PickleSkills+ program saw over 659 participants led by 73 volunteers.  Glow in the Dark Pickleball in November was a hit.  Club members provided over 27,000 meals for St. Mary’s Food Bank. The club also held a toy drive and holiday party.

In January the V-Club dinnerwas held to honor 300 volunteers that served throughout 2023.  A chili cook-off in February generated more than $800 in donations to Arizona Fire & Medical.  The season ended with St. Paddy’s Party in March and and end of season bash Season Bash in April. Coming up, to close out the season is a  Cinco De Mayo party in May with a pot luck dinner, a  band and lots of pickleball.
