SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Area farmers can help support students who are learning about agriculture by taking part in an annual fundraiser.

The Sullivan FFA Alumni Auction is underway now. The Sullivan FFA chapter teams up with alumni to hold this event which is being held online and is one of the major fundraisers for the chapter.

A variety of agricultural products were donated for the auction. All of the money raised supports activities for students in Sullivan FFA, such as trips, scholarships, and community events.

“It allows students to be able to go on fun trips like our summer tour which we take to different midwest cities and visit agribusinesses there, which allows students an educational opportunity to learn about different ag businesses, but it also helps us give back to our community,” Carol Witt, Sullivan FFA President said.

Jeff Miller is an FFA advisor at Sullivan High School and he said the auction itself is also an educational opportunity.

“There’s a lot of learning involved in this. We have classroom activities when we get a donation and I can’t say enough how pleased we are of the people that have donated these items,” Miller said.

The auction runs through April 24 at 7:00 p.m. To view the action page, visit the Sullivan FFA Auction webpage .
