    Fatal Hit-and-Run Highlighted for National Crime Victims Rights Week

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=11pgGP_0sZeqV7T00 Suffolk County police are highlighting a fatal hit-and-run crash in Huntington Staton as part of National Crime Victims Rights Week .

    The focus is on the Huntington Station and other unsolved cases in hopes of bringing in new tips that will help bring resolution to the case.Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a fast cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

    On March 4, 2023, Bernarda Fernandez was walking west along the north side of Jericho Turnpike and was crossing Oakwood Road when she was struck from behind by a dark-colored SUV. The SUV then fled the scene  northbound  on Oakwood Road.

    Fernandez was able to call 911 but died of her injuries while being transported to Huntington Hospital.

    Anyone with information is asked to call Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
