Edmond Haynes Taylor And James Edward Pepper
There was a long relationship between Edmond Haynes Taylor and Edward Pepper. Taylor started in the whiskey industry after the American Civil War with a partnership in Gaines, Berry and Company, the company that owned the Old Crow brand. About the same time, Oscar Pepper died and left his distillery to James Pepper, who was still a minor and couldn’t own a distillery, so Taylor was appointed his guardian for the distillery. Taylor and Pepper had a good relationship starting with this guardianship.

The brown eggs at this little farm store were laid that same day by hens roaming the pasture out back. That alone made me sit up a bit straighter. The meat follows the same rule. Grass-fed beef, pasture-raised pork, and pasture-raised chicken all come from animals raised with zero antibiotics, steroids, or pesticides.

WTVQ and Scripps Media sued by Lexington property owner over lease
A Lexington man is suing WTVQ-TV and its owner, Scripps Media, over Fayette County property that the television station has leased since 1967. Stephen K. Justice is asking a judge for a declaratory judgment allowing him to terminate WTVQ’s lease to the 20-acre site off Bryant Road, near Winchester Road. While paying fixed rent of $600 per month, Justice says the station has rented space to cellphone carriers and allowed the FBI to place a transmitter there, and he says WTVQ has allowed the property to fall into disrepair. According to a lawsuit filed in Fayette Circuit Court on Friday, WTVQ’s predecessor, WBLG, leased the property in 1967 for an initial 10-year term, followed by seven automatic 10-year extensions. The current term is set to end Oct. 30, 2027. The suit says the lease allows the station to use the property for “any lawful purpose, including the erection and operation of television towers, transmitter stations, studios, offices and all things incidental thereto.” The lawsuit says the station can make “improvements as it desires or needs in connection with the operation of commercial television broadcasting stations.” The suit says WTVQ has “allowed commercial wireless carriers, to place cellular equipment on the
