LAPD Seeks Public's Help to Locate Trio Suspected in Brutal Stabbing in Palms Area
Los Angeles detectives are on the hunt for three assailants after a brutal stabbing in Palms last month left a man with serious injuries. The Los Angeles Police Department's Pacific Division is leading the investigation into the attack, which they say occurred on April 23 at around 4 p.m. on the 9000 block of Venice Boulevard, according to their official news release.
Body found at bottom of cliffs near Point Fermin
A body was found at the base of the cliffs near Point Fermin in San Pedro on Saturday, prompting an investigation from local authorities.Crews were first dispatched to the area, near the 730 block of Paseo Del mar, a little before 12:40 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. It's unclear how the body ended up at the bottom of the cliff. "Crews will provide assistance to law enforcement and the Medical Examiner in recovering the body," said LAFD's Nicholas Prange in a statement. "No additional patients. No details regarding the circumstances surrounding the death."Video from the scene showed a large law enforcement presence throughout the day on Saturday. No further information was provided.

Dozens of malnourished and injured brown pelicans are turning up along the Northern California coastline. Russ Curtis, a spokesperson for nonprofit organization International Bird Rescue, said the organization has recovered sick pelicans in Southern California, too. 1 hospitalized, 1 arrested for DUI after collision causes car to veer into Valley Glen shop
One person was hospitalized and another arrested after a two-car collision sent one car veering into a shop in Valley Glen on Saturday. The crash happened before 6 p.m. in the 6400 block of N. Wilkinson Avenue, according to Los Angeles Fire Department crews dispatched to the scene. They arrived to find that one car involved in a two-car crash had veered into the side of a building on the side of the road, leaving considerable damage to the structure. One of the drivers was rushed to a nearby hospital in unknown condition, firefighters said. Los Angeles Police Department officers say that one of the people involved in the crash was arrested for possible driving under the influence. The Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety was called to the scene to assess the building's structural integrity and deem if it was still safe for people to be inside.
