Herkimer Lions club involved in pair of major projects
HERKIMER â Following its recent meeting, the Greater Herkimer Lions Club reported on its successful involvement in a pair of major projects. First, the organization responded to a plea to help an Afghan translator and family who recently resettled in West Hartford, Connecticut, receive a used car in order to make their acclamation a bit easier. The club donated $500 to the cause and just learned that thanks to additional contributions by the Herkimer County Hunger Coalition, spearheaded by Kelly Brown, and the Greater Herkimer Kiwanis Club, led by Greg Riddle, as well as several local donors, a van has been purchased and delivered.
