SPD says man fatally shot himself during alleged robbery attempt at Springfield drugstore
A man turned a gun on himself as he was being approached by authorities responding to an alleged robbery at a drugstore on Wednesday, according to Springfield police. Police said that around 11 a.m. officers responded to a call at Lawrence Drug on Republic Road of a man who slipped a note to an employee demanding drugs. When officers went inside the store, SPD said the man pulled out a gun and took his own life.
