The Stony Brook community is preparing for another pro-Palestinian protest . This time, the demonstration is scheduled to happen off-campus near the Stony Brook LIRR station Wednesday afternoon.

Business owners say Suffolk police officers went door-to-door Tuesday, informing them of the planned protest.

MTA police posted signs at the LIRR station warning commuters the parking lot will be closed all day Wednesday.

Tom Gounaris, at 16 Round Wood Fired Pizza on Route 25-A, says he plans to be open.

“Hopefully, it’s not too much of an inconvenience for people. If it goes into dinner time and affects our business it’ll be a big problem for us,” Gounaris said.

The demonstration is scheduled to take place approximately one week after 29 people were arrested during a protest on campus. Twenty-two of the people arrested were students. Two were faculty members.

A Suffolk police spokesperson says increased patrols are planned for the area on Wednesday
